About Me

Hi there! I'm Frederik but most of my friends call me Freddy. I'm a student of Engeneering in Munich where I also live. I would describe myself as outgoing but calm, pragmatic, openminded and freindly. I like to talk, sometimes maybe too much but I think my friends are usually ok with it. Also I think I have a polite way of interacting with anyone I meet and I like to make new people feel comfortable.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was going to travel to Moscow with a friend but he changed his plans so that leaves me alone with my ticket to Russia. I've heard and read about couchsurfing over the last couple of years and it always seemed like a really exciting, new way of travel. So now that Im going to Moscow by myself, I thought Couchsurfing would be the ideal way for me to explore the city, because I think no one else can show you around like a local resident. I'm really excited what a host could tell me about his or her city, what his/her favourite spots are and what it is like to live there. Since I'm travelling by myself, hanging out with a host would be a great way to spend my time in the foreign city/country.

Interests

I sing in a choir in Munich and I also know how to play Viola. Until a few years go I used to regularly play in an orchestra in my hometown. My parents signed me up for soccer when I as 5, but I stopped playing for a club when I was 13. Nowadays I occasionally play soccer with friends but more often I follow games on news and TV. Munich is close to the moutains of the alps where I go skiing on a few days in winter.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is really important to me. I can listen to all kinds of Music and I think it always depends on the mood I'm in. Although the majority of what I listen to is Hip Hop followed by classical orchestra, instrumental or a cappela music.
When watching movies and TV shows I tend to watch stuff that makes me laugh ans is easy to relax to. Those are usually American sitcoms, sometimes German, but I also like movies that are more loaded with action or thrill.
I almost never read books, only articles on the web, in magazines or news papers. I used to read more when I was a kid.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So far there were two times where I stayed in a foreign country for longer than just a vacation. When I was in school in 10th grade, I went on an exchange year to a Canadian high school. When I came back and graduated school at home in Germany, I left again to do a half year as an Au pair in China. Both times I made incredible and just awesome experiences during my stay there. They have made a great impression on my character today.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not so sure what to write in this section. I think I can share all of my thoughts and things about the stuff I listed above when I'm in a conversation with the host. I would like to hear about his/her stories and interestests, what his/her thoughts are on recent topics or compared to what I have experienced. I can't think of much I wouldn't share, it depends on how the host and I connect and how we feel.
