About Me

Hey there, my name is Frederik. I’m from Germany, but I’ve lived in other countries since ’22—in Costa Rica and Spain.

I’m also known to fall out of the norm in some areas, so if you’re looking for someone to go out with to drink and party, don’t be disappointed if I stay home, because I prioritize a healthy lifestyle and avoid loud places. We probably also won’t share meals, since I eat a plant-based diet. Coffee? I might go for a tea with you, but then again:

What would really make my day is if we can both enjoy an outdoor activity together—anything that would involve a little bit of risk and adrenaline: climbing, renting electric scooters, water sports (kayak, SUP, rowing, etc.), going up a tower, hikes, and the like. I know this is kinda niche compared to the typical sightseeing and dinner tours, but I’d rather be straight-up with you about what I truly enjoy, so you have a good idea of what to expect.

I’m also not huge on walks, so don’t be too disappointed if I don’t join your on your city explorations on foot.

I thoroughly enjoy a good conversation though, so if we don’t do anything outside together but can have a great time chatting at home, I’m all for it! This is my low-key favorite, actually.

If you are fine with all of the above and know how to have a good time by yourself as much as in good company, I am confident that we are going to get along well. In that case, don’t hesitate to send me a message and I’ll get back to you shortly (I’ll get an email notification).

I tend to respond to every request!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m keen to meet people from different parts of the world and enjoy exchanging languages. I think Couchsurfing is a cool idea and a platform I want to be a part of.

Interests

There are a lot of fields of interest that I’m passionate about, but first and foremost it would be physical activity. My current favorite sport is rock climbing—in the gym as much as outdoors.
I thoroughly enjoy deep conversations about what is most raw, personal and meaningful to us.
I am quite interested in food, health and nutrition, as well as exercise. If you're a health nut, I want to meet you!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’d be stoked if we could do an activity together that we both like, such as climbing, kayaking, cycling, stand-up paddling, weight lifting / bodybuilding, swimming, rowing, hiking, etc.

I enjoy going to language exchanges, so if you are keen to improve your Spanish or practice any other language, we can join a meeting together and meet new people.

Is there a guitar around? Maybe I could play something and sing, too.

I’m always looking for genuine connections, and from experience that's most likely to happen with people who are a bit different, alternative, or quirky. Whether that's hippies, neurodivergent people, health nuts, or all of the above, what matters is that we're not afraid of being authentically ourselves and share sufficient common ground in terms of core values, interests, and lifestyle habits.
