Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm Frederike, I'm 22 years old and I'm a student at industrial design engineering at the Technical university in Delft.
My hobbies are rowing (8 times a week last year!) field hockey, playing on my ukulele, arts and crafts, design and watching movies with friends.
I lived in Paris 2 years ago and I worked as an animatrice last summer, c'est pourquoi je peux parler francais, mais je fais beacoup des erreurs (souvants drôles).
I live in a mixed student home with 15 other students, which means I have a lot of amazingly insane stories. Please don't ask me anything about drugs, not all Dutchies are experts ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because my mom never let me untill now, YAAY.
And I love this way of traveling, I always try to meetup with locals and other travellers, Couchsurfing makes this super easy.
I'd host as well if I didn't live in a 12m2 room. (No space for a couch) I've used Airbnb and Blablacar a lot, and it has shown me that a trip can be 1000x better if you have someone to share stories with.
Interests
My study is my passion, and I'm so glad I've found something I love doing for a living. The last 7 months i did crew (rowing) 8 times a week. It was practically my life, but i enjoy working out.
Sometimes, when I have time, I'll play my ukulele, but I'm not really good. I can play la vie en rose (in French and English).
I have 14 plants in my 12m2 room, and they are all alive! My room can be considered an urban jungle, and i cant stop buying more plants.

Music, Movies, and Books
I’m a believer by the monkees is my favorite song ever.
But blasting really really bad music and singing along is a nice activity as well.
Ask me anything about disney, i love those movies and all the fan theories surrounding them. I don't often read books, only when I have a lot of free time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived next to the eiffel tower for half a year, could see the top from my roof window. There I worked as an aupair for the "mom" equivalent of Meryl Streep in the devil wears Prada. Ofcourse I can tell you all about that, but Paris itself is much more interesting to talk about.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'll teach you about...
Origami, some Dutch, some French, Dutch life, Dutch design, Parisien life, sports, multilangual life, Dutch student life, Disney facts, pretty much anything I know anything about.
I would want to learn...
About you! Tell me what it's like where you live, show me the best lunch spots, hidden gems. I'm visiting a country to discover the people and the culture, and you're likely part of that. Also I want to learn how to Salsa dance, how to paint (better) and how to do yoga.
I will share with you...
Many many many stories. And silly facts.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Dutch cookies and hagelslag (it's not the same as chocolate sprinkles believe me) for sure. I'd cook you some Dutch food, but lets be honest, Dutch food is not very tasty. (Mostly mashed potatoes with some vegetable)I'll share al lot of stories and knowledge with you.
