About Me

CURRENT MISSION

find out what the next mission/plan/challenge will be

ABOUT ME

Québécoise, Canadian-from-the-French-part when I travel, newly Kiwi.
Definitely optimist, quite forgetful, generally happy, nerdy in a good way, a bit lazy but always up to try new things. The procrastination queen, sadly.

PHILOSOPHY

Happy!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to host, mostly.
I surf, a little (for now).
I get distracted and forget about CS for months at a time, then I come back to it, then it start over again...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosting regularly for 4 years, with the single most comfy couch in the universe. So comfy sometimes I'd sleep on it myself...
Now I've moved to the other end of the world, the surfing is somewhat more organized, the couches aren't as fabulous but the people certainly are.

Interests

Changing from day to day.
International law, laughing, reading about food, talking, swing dancing, cycling on my faithful old & pink ten-speed, museums, moving about, taking close-up photos, discovering stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

Reading... right now - Alexander McCall Smith's Two-and-a-half Pillars of Wisdom,
Stephen Jay Gould's The Flamingo Smile, and just starting David Sedaris' When You Are Engulfed in Flames.
Always - Michael Ondaatje, Ruth Reichl, Christine Brouillette, David Sedaris, Barbara Kingsolver (esp. her short stories), Isabel Allende, and big international law casebooks.

Listening... everything (every single time I dare say I don't like a style, someone proves me wrong. I'm learning my lesson)
at the moment - lots and lots of swing-dance-able music, and also Malajube, Diane Reeves, Mika, Anaïs, Emiliana Torrini, Holly Smith, and CBC Radio3 podcasts.

Watching... movies in French in a theater in an English-language country, because I laugh before everyone else does; anything intelligent and/or silly, in any language - I kinda like subtitles.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you how to make good pie crust - the old-fashioned way or the 2-minutes food-processor way - and I have a fabulous recipe for sweet-potato/kumara muffins.

I could also teach you some swing-dancing moves, if you feel the need to burn off the calories from the above...

I'll learn what you want to share - I'm not picky, and very curious.
