À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy life as much as i can and discover discover discover always more!

ABOUT ME

Although I have a tendency to consider myself shy, I love going towards people, meeting people, and the more different they are from me, the more interesting they are. I am pretty laid back and easy going, I hate making plans and feel happy whenever I can walk around, look at things, observe people, sit in a cafe to read, write or draw. Appart from that... my great "passion"? literature and everything that is related to it... words and languages, philosophy. Other than that, I simply love being on the road, going to the country side and talk to the people who live there and make them talk about their life. I dont go out clubbing but I love drinking (and eating) and talking about a thousand different topics and always learn more from others...

PHILOSOPHY

Thats kind of hard to put words on ones philosophy... lets just say that i want to live my life to the max, try things, make mistakes and learn, and try new things, always discover more, whatever happens, because what doesnt kill us makes us stronger!

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Although I cannot host anyone at the moment because I live with a roommate who isn't only suspicious about strangers coming to stay at our place, but also kind of anti-social, I have hosted several couchsurfers in the past. I can't wait to be able to do that again! Before that happens, I'm always willing to have coffee or a drink whenever that's possible!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted 5 persons already. Had some bad surprises but also amazing and unforgettable ones!!!! Couchsurfing really changed my way of looking at things and relating to people.

Centres d'intérêt

Learning languages, learning about other cultures and other people's way of seeing things, understanding things. Reading (mostly in the original version, so I'm kind of "limited" to French, English and Albanian speaking literatures for now), drawing, going out (bars rather than clubs, walking around and staring at people ;)

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Contemporary (not only) and little known (?) authors from various parts of the globe. The list would be endless but here are some: William T. Vollman's The Atlas (every traveler should read this amaaaaaaazing novel), Aleksandar Hemon, Russell Banks, Ivo Andric,Danilo Kis, Ismail Kadare, Rawi Hage's Cockroach... and others ;)

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

The first time I slept in a train station in Trieste, a group of Gipsies, although we did not speak the same language, invited me to have "dinner" with them.
Walking from Piran in Slovenia to Umag in Croatia, with no map, no plan and no idea where I was going; seeing the amazed faces of people when I asked "Hvatska" pointing towards the dark mountains, and having this old woman bursting out laughing and taking me by the end to the road I was supposed to take.
In Trieste, having this conversation about Hemingway and Buddhism with an Italian guy who could neither speak French or English, while I couldnt speak a word of Italian... proof that we can always find a way to communicate.
This guy in Macedonia with whom I had no language in common and yet took me to the bus station in the middle of nowhere and then asked me my name... that's basics, but I'd never thought about that before...
And many many others...

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

One thing for sure, I can teach French... other than that, I'm always willing to share my experiences and learn from others' as well... so what we "teach" and learn, in the end, always depends on the person standing in front of us...

Pays que j'ai visités

Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Italy, Kosovo, Slovenia

Pays dans lesquels j'ai vécu

United Kingdom, United States
