About Me

I'm currently unable to host, sorry.

Lets go play in the mountains!

I'm a ski bum, I love winter and mild mountain temperatures in the summer. I have spent the past 11 years living seasonally, working as a ski instructor and later a ski coach in: Idaho, Colorado, and most recently California.

In the summer months I enjoy bike riding of all varieties, rock climbing, paragliding, leading summer camps, zipline tour guiding, outdoor adventures, rafting, exploring and moseying around aimlessly, often times in unknown lands the moseying is with with non-hostile hostel friends and people from couch surfing meetups.

Summer before last I spent a lot of time converting a 25ft shuttle bus into a tiny house, I learned a lot about carpentry and fiber-glassing as well as design. I still have a long way to go with Housie-Mc-Bus-Face but she is a cozy and comfortable living space in the non-winter months right now.

"If you don't do it this season you'll be one year older when you do."- Warren Miller

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was lead here by the book "Tales of a female nomad..." when I was 19.

I enjoy meeting new people and becoming part of communities larger than my work and family circles.

I like walking away from couchsurfing connections with new ties to people in different areas, it helps me feel a bit more communal in a world where we're often so distant. For me, places seem much better when you have someone to experience them with, however big or small the interaction may be.

With your request please include: the strangest thing you've taken on an airplane. Or, just make something up if you're a "I only travel with clothes, toiletries and a computer to keep my baby goat occupied on the flight" kind of person.

Interests

I find great satisfaction hanging out in high slung hammocks, preferably spanning a river. One of my favorite summers about 90% of my nights were spent sleeping in a hammock. But, my absolute favorite summer over 90% of my nights were spent in non-air conditioned rooms of hostels and on friends couches (with a little bit of hammocking and tenting then too).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't like this question, I feel like few humans do AMAZING things.

Teach, Learn, Share

Come ski with me! I'm happy to host and hang out in Tahoe! Squaw is my main mountain and I'm am stoked to teach some advanced skiing stuff and guide you.

I'm pretty mediocre at flow sports but I enjoy them and enjoy teaching them as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Delicious cooking, conversation and adventure.

I think the best way to connect with people is to create food and eat with them. I am always happy to join in on making food and to learn and teach new things. I am a vegetarian but according to several omnivores they wouldn't miss meat too much if I stuck around to cook plant based meals for them and with that I feel like I'm leaving a fair amount of pressure on my cooking abilities. I'll say I'm pretty ok at cooking but don't expect michilan star quality by any means.
