ABOUT ME

I am a 28 year old guy from Sunshine Coast Australia. I am passionate about bodyboarding, science, and keeping fit.

My traveling experiences are mostly in North America, having spent three winters snowboarding in Fernie, Revelstoke and Jackson Hole. In between seasons I spent time traveling the west coast and Mexico, as well as working at a kids camp in North Carolina. I have also spent a few months traveling around Western Europe, plus a month in Vietnam and a month in Indonesia.

For education and work, I have a degree in electrical engineering and have worked a few years doing high frequency electronics for military radar applications. I started a PhD in optics but dropped out after one year as I felt it was not going anywhere. Most recently I worked for a few months doing earthing for power transmission.

Sports I am most interested in are bodyboarding, snowboarding and weightlifting. I have been bodyboarding since I was young and am keen to surf more overseas, in particular the peru/chile coast which looks to have some great waves.

Other interests of mine are economics, and general science. I like to always have an interesting book to read and subscribe to a number of podcasts.

PHILOSOPHY

I was living in a share house (club dell) with friends in Brisbane Australia, and we were hosting on and off since 2009.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosting for a few years, plus stayed with people whilst traveling in Canada.
