I am a people lover and watcher. I adore my family and friends. Art, design, and fashion excite me as well as the people who create, own or wear it. I am an organized, tidy, annoyingly careful decision maker. Yet, love doing things spontaneously and without reason except to make someone smile, especially myself, or simply to be able to say, "I did that!"

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I really enjoyed meeting a student from Poland and two young fellows from Hong Kong via my ex-roommate's CS membership. It reminded me how much I love listening to stories and seeing people help and trust one another. Warms my heart!

Interests

Teach, Learn, Share

I studied Furniture Design at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design. Although I haven't used my shop skills recently, I haven't lost my knack for thinking critically. I enjoy asking artists and designers about their reasons for creating.

Recently, I have been exploring the world of fabric while making zipper pouches and screen printing on T-shirts. I am always looking for tips to improve my craft. Also, in 2011, my goal is to open my first online shop. This is a big scary unknown world to me so if anyone can share their knowledge, that would be great!

I am also an English Teacher. I have been teaching the past four years in Japan. It is not what I want to do the rest of my life, but I am pretty darn good at it. My crazy energy, patience and motherly nature is a great formula for teaching little ones. If anyone of you have questions about teaching in Japan, please ask.
