Travel to Ireland on a motorbike with my girlfriend. Have to get a licence first. And a motorbike.

ABOUT ME

I'm a geek, and I know too much about too many things (except the things that would actually help me to get my degree). I'm clever and polite, except in the morning when I'm dull and grumpy. Sometimes I'm childish, sometimes I'm dead serious. I'm outgoing, which means I know the best places in town (the real good ones, not the overcrowded ones with shitty disco music).

I live with my girlfriend Kati (or Kate), who's obviously my favorite person ever. She's mostly into the same stuff as me, but knows the city better because unlike me, she grew up in Budapest. She currently works as a teacher's assistant, which means that if you arrive during school summer break, you'll probably be hanging out with her a lot more than with me.

PHILOSOPHY

I like to live the moment, however cliché it may sound. I think you shouldn't live in the past or in the future. Anybody who worries too much about either one, forgets to live in the now.
I think people get mad too often about bad stuff that happened to them. It already happened and you cannot change it, so why waste precious energy on getting mad about it? You should always try to learn from these experiences so you won't make the same mistakes next time. This is kind of a cynical approach to dealing with things, but it works for me.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently we're just hosting travelers. We wan't to get enough positive references by the time we decide to go travelling. We hope we'll be able to save enough money in a year to travel to Ireland with my girlfriend.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Our experience with CouchSurfing so far has been incredible. We met a lot of cool and interesting people and we had such a great time hosting them. It's so much fun showing tourists around the town.

兴趣

I love movies, jazz and blues, great concerts, role playing games and tabletop games. Also books. I like science fiction authors (if you do not know who Ray Bradbury was, do not even consider asking if I had a couch for you :)). I'm into eating; I would definitely choose a steak over a wellness weekend. Except if the wellness weekend includes water slides. I love water slides.

Kati is much more well-versed with Hungarian artists, especially musicians, so if you need any recommendations, you should turn to her. She is great at cooking (and getting better every day!) so we might be able to introduce our guests to some of the best Hungarian dishes.

We both love Munchkin and other tabletop games.

Nine Inch Nails, Dave Matthews Band, Audioslave, The National, Led Zeppelin, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Coldplay, Yeasayer, Soundgarden, Arcade Fire, Mumford & Sons, Jethro Tull, Hans Zimmer, Editors, Quimby, The Black Keys, White Lies, The White Stripes, Florence + the Machine, The Who, Kings of Leon.

I believe Kate would add the likes of Paramore, Lana del Rey, Muse, The Reign of Kindo, Gossip and Franz Ferdinand to this list.

Kate and I share mostly the same tastes when it comes to movies. She's really into Miyazaki films and romantic comedies (which she calls girly films). We both love a lot of movies including The Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather, 12 Monkeys, everything from Chris Nolan, Star Wars, everything from the Coen brothers, films of Guillermo del Toro, and pretty much everything from Tarantino. And I could go on and on about Arnold Schwarzenegger movies, which Kate would never understand.

I read much less than I'd like to. I like modern science fiction writers, contemporary American literature, comic books and graphic novels (including The Walking Dead and Transmetropolitan, X-Men etc.).

I became Man of the Year in 2006 according to TIME magazine.
I drank three palinkas in a row at my brother's wedding without throwing up.
