ABOUT ME
I'm an Austrian living in Switzerland, trying to adapt to swiss culture, and like everyone here I enjoy to travel a lot. I prefer to see the local perspective of a place I travel to.
Also I'm really bad at keeping my profile up to date, so please excuse me if some information on my profile is outdated ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Whenever I'm travelling, I meet so many amazing people, with various backgrounds and experiences. CS helps me to meet more local people on my trips, as well as to meet people from around the world even when I'm at home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Essentially, I always try to meet up with local people while I'm travelling, and so far I had a lot of really memorable experiences. I made a lot of friends along the way, and met up with them again at a later point, when I had the chance.
Interests
Like most people on couchsurfing, I really like to meet people from different cultures, hear about their lives and experiences, and get to know their viewpoints on various matters.
Apart from that, my interests are varied. I'm very interested in different areas of science, especially most of natural sciences. When I'm travelling, I often start of by just walking through a city and passing various areas, including the less touristy ones, just to get a feel for the city. I also really like nature, and I can rarely pass a squirrel or some other type of animal without fotographing it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I visited Alaska by plane it was midnight, and it felt even later for me, since I was in New York before, which has 4 hours time difference. I was so fascinated by the landscape and by the fact that it was still light outside at midnight, that I immediatly went for an hour-long walk around the city until it finally was getting dark.
When I went to Washington D.C. I realized that it is thanksgiving, and even though we don't celebrate this in Austria, I wanted to join in on the local traditions, and the Washington D.C. couchsurfers made this possible.
