About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Rehearse for revolution through play (also open to better ideas)

ABOUT ME

I have just finished university, writing plays, drawing satirical maps, putting on shows, getting involved with local campaigns against coal power etc. I'm not going to say life couldn't be better- because it could be if we all lived in a utopia where there was no distinction between work and fun, everyone got to pursue whatever fulfilled them, and people felt content without the help of anti-depressants and reality tv (yes, reality tv would not exist in my utopia, sorry).

PHILOSOPHY

I think Robert Ingersoll had it pretty well worked out: "Happiness is the only good. The place to be happy is here. The time to be happy is now. The way to be happy is to make others so." As long as happiness for you isn't burning fossil fuels for fun and using old growth forest as toilet paper, in which case your happiness is going to make future generations rather depressed.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Found out about it through more well traveled former housemates. Have both hosted and surferoed

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, excellent- a great communal way for people to travel outside the torturous tourist tourniquet! Such a nice idea, to welcome other people into your home, and for the gift to be reciprocated all over the world.

Interests

Writing plays, novels, opinion pieces, comedy debates, alternative histories of the world (Newt Gingrich does it too- not that I like Newt Gingrich, he's got some problems), also drawing, printmaking (lino cuts, etching), making participatory board games about climate change that show how the nation-state system is failing us, performing as a fake mining magnate and meeting politicians
