About Me

CURRENT MISSION

GET OUT OF CHINA. Working my way to the west to the USA, one country at a time.

ABOUT ME

I graduated with a degree in finance last spring but now I am living in Shanghai teaching high school. Not really how I thought my life would work out but its interesting.

PHILOSOPHY

You live. you learn.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well I just moved out of my apartment in Shanghai. I, well mostly my roommates, hosted several CSers.

I also CS my way through South Korea and Japan. The experience was great and I am hoping to meet some more people through CS this summer as my friend and I take the long way home from China- westward through Europe!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My two favorite CS experiences were with couples-- Paul and Violet in Harbin (so cold) China and Bryan and Dianna in Busan, South Korea. YOU GUYS WERE THE BEST! I guess CS can be a little awkward at first... afterall you are sleeping at a strangers home! But couples are comfortable with each other at least and that seems to break the ice.

Interests

My problem is that I have too many interests and I don't know how to sort these into a career! The only one passion that I have is traveling and it is tough to find a job that can keep my interest more than this!

  • marathon
  • running
  • working out
  • traveling
  • backpacking

Music, Movies, and Books

I love historical (fiction or not) novels. I just read Unbroken the Story of WWII and it left an unsetting feeling in my mind. After Japan, I read Memoirs of a Geisha and now I am fueling up on Russian literature since I am there right now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran a half marathon on the Great Wall of China. I thought this made me a bad ass but to my surprise it was kind of easy... I guess there's nothing like the real thing- a full marathon. I promised a friend I would run the NYC marathon in 2013. Wish me luck because my only workout this summer will be carrying my giant backpack!
