CURRENT MISSION
Test if you can actually Surf with a couch.
ABOUT ME
Maëlle, student, explorer.
After a year in Berlin and another one in California, I'm now in London for a MA in International Human Rights and Social Justice. I am French though. I mean, I really am.
Moving abroad changed my life. Loosing love changed my life too. Exploring California made me feel free like never before. And I have found the person I am going to explore the world with. The future looks amazing !
I love life. People and places are everything. I have accepted the impermanence of things, very important too.
When I'm feeling bad, pointless, bored... I just think about the country I haven't visited yet, the people I haven't met yet, the languages I haven't learned yet, the experiences I still have to live. And all the things I don't expect to live but will nevertheless experience. Moves me deeply everytime I think of it.
PHILOSOPHY
Like Sinatra said :
"The best is yet to come, and won't that be fine
You think you've seen the sun, but you ain't seen it shine.
We've only tasted the wine ! we're gonna drain that cup dry !"
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been given so much from "strangers" that I could hardly believe it. I'm trying to give back without reserve whenever I can and I think people will appreciate it.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So as my "current mission" says, I wanted to find out if you can actually surf a couch.
As time passed, life surprisingly brought me a series of answers.
First, I have seen a couch surfing the desert. It was in Black Rock city, in September 2010.
Then, one of my couches actually flew away from the back of my housemates' car. We were driving back from LA, it was also in September 2010. We never saw it again. I like to think the couch ended up surfing the ocean, so close to that freeway.
Intereses
Loving the people who make me feel life is worth it at the end of the day is one of the most important things I do on a daily basis.
Otherwise, laughing around a glass of wine and gaily strolling around in nature are the best ways I can think of when it comes to spend precious life-time.

Algo increíble que he hecho
Traveling through Spain, France and Germany with the H1N1 flu. Still partying. Running after your train thinking you're going to faint at any second. Begging people with your eyes to send you to hospital.
Sailed with dolphins at 5am with Bonifacio's cliffs slowly appearing out of the morning mist.
Two black bears crossed the road in front of me in Yosemite.
