About Me

Hi all!
I'm a 27yr old Aussie currently living in Montréal.
I'm in love with this city; it has so much to give and is a constant source of fun experiences.

I wish everybody could just be happy all the time!
I love nice people. Anyone who is nice to me will more than receive that kindness in return.

PHILOSOPHY

Appreciate the small things, take pleasure in a sunset, enjoy the taste of a glass of water, laugh at nothing, stop and listen to the things around you, smell a home-made meal, love a little! Whatever it is, enjoy it.
I believe that life goes past way too fast for anyone to worry about what their future holds. Live in the present you mad people! What does it matter if you finish university a year or five years late, or if you don't find someone to love 'til you're 40? The present is ALWAYS awesome. It just needs your effort to make it great.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't like the idea of just staying at someone's place for the free couch, so I try to involve myself as much with them emotionally in what little time we have together. I love being able to Host people and always have a great time showing them around the beautiful city of Canberra!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met so many amazing people through CS. In my opinion, 99% of people who use CS are just simply awesome and pretty much always a pleasure to talk to and have drinks with. I've felt very privileged to have travelled and shared part of my life with these amazing people.

CS meet-ups rock! :)

Interests

I LOVE Reading, my resting state is curled up on a sofa with a book in my hand and a content expression on my face.

Music, as far as I'm concerned, is something that I can go without, but it somehow makes everything sweeter when it's around.

Photography, Taking that perfect photo is such a thrill, I rarely go anywhere without Kurt Raul, my camera.

I love writing. Whether it's my daily journal, or jotting down ideas for a short story, there's just something fundamentally satisfying for me to see my ideas transformed on paper into 'acts'.

Languages! I'm well along into learning Spanish and loving it! Next German, and then, who knows, but there'll definitely be more to come :)

Sports! Sports have got to be at least my second favourite thing! I do anything from bike rides and jogging in the afternoon, to playing competitive Rugby and Touch football, to playing tennis and soccer or Frisbee and golf with my mates. I live for skiing and snowboarding during the winter.(YES IT DOES SNOW IN AUSTRALIA!)

Last, but DEFINITELY not least are my Friends. I just think that anything anyone does is best shared. Whether it's with my best friend, someone i've known since primary school, or with someone I met last night at a CS meeting, the best times of my life only ever happen with other people.

Things are only truly fun and worthwhile if you're sharing the experience with someone.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I LOVE reading, but in particular I'll read any half decent sci-fi/fantasy. These are my favourite authors:
Isaac Asimov, Kevin J. Anderson, Simon R. Green, Robin Hobb, Matthew Reilly, Charlie Higson, Joe Haldeman, Phillip Reeve, Peter F. Hamilton, George Martin, Stephen Fry.

Music: I love music with a good melody and a solid chorus. But I'll enjoy any genre if it resonates with me.

TV: Got, Stranger things, Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, Community, Archer, Rick and Morty, Adventure Time, Doctor Who, The Bill, Monty Python, The Chaser, The office.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The single-most incredible thing that has happened to me was when i was at Ayers rock in Australia. I was sitting in the car with the window open for the heat, reading a book. Out of nowhere a peregegrine falcon flew in the window and sat on my leg.
It probably only lasted a second, but it felt like a lifetime as we stared at each other without moving. That was the most in touch i think i've ever felt with an animal and I'll always keep that memory close to my heart. I know it sounds extremely lame but it's true!

I've done so many amazing things over the last several months that they're too numerous to put down, but just ask and I shall divulge!

Teach, Learn, Share

After travelling through Spain for over two months, the UK for 3 months, france for 4 months and assorted other countries, I feel like I have HEAPS of amazing stories to share that I couldn't even have dreamed of a year ago.

I'm also bilingual, and love speaking frenglish, or spanglish, or franish, depending on what company I'm in, I'm happy to share any of these three languages with anyone who is interested!
