ABOUT ME

This box is too big to contain the little there is to know about me. I am cursed with perfectionist traits, which does not enable me to get much done. I am also lazy, which does not help, either. What I manage to do, I tend to optimise heavily so I have to do less to achieve more. It does not usually make a difference. I am also a language freak slash purist and I embrace national differences with a vigour. One can even say I am a nationalist for every nation there is: the more diversity we have, the merrier. Therefore I am not much of a fan of americanisation and bastardisation of local languages and cultures. Embrace, yes, replace, no. Then again, rabid and romanticist 19th century ius sanguinis nationalism is sickening in its inward-looking exclusiveness. Defining oneself through what you aren't and whom you are against is so elementary-school.

I used to be into photography a lot and still am, but I don't take pictures that much anymore. I still play the guitar a lot and take my cues from Guitar Craft. Travelling, reading, amateur linguistics and tinkering with computers qualify as hobbies for me. Cats, well, they are a way of life. I am very good at peeling potatoes and finding glaring mistakes from a printed page. I also translate books from English into Estonian. (So far, mostly travel guides. Vicarious travelling, anyone?)

Any more useless info? Yes! By all means. I do not smoke, but I do like to sip wine and beer is also excellent. I am not religious, but not fanatically so. I don't go clubbing, but sometimes can be found at concerts and pubs. I have some sense of humour and I pretty much expect everybody to have one, since it is impossible to communicate without it. I can show around town and tell stories, which may or may not be fictional. There is more, but that should be enough.

PHILOSOPHY

My roots are in the working class, so my IQ is probably not high enough for philosophy.

I have been at parties where there were backpackers present, both from CS and HC. I have also hosted a couple of times.
