About Me
Hello, my name is Freya! I am 29 years old and was born in Scotland but raised in New Zealand.
I spent 2014-2019 living in different parts of Europe (I was trying to make the most of my British passport before the dreaded Brexit). I moved between Norway, Scotland, Germany and the Netherlands working in various jobs such as a Parliamentary Assistant in Edinburgh and a journalist in Leiden.
For the last couple of years I have been back in NZ working as the Conservation Ranger on Motuihe Island (an island 30 minutes boat ride from Auckland in New Zealand). I did all manner of tasks here including wildlife monitoring, lawnmowing, fence repairing, rodent control, land maintenance and tree planting. I loved being out in nature working closely with wildlife.
I am independent, curious, adaptable and bubbly but love meeting new people and socialising. I am a fast learner and will give almost anything a go.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I find couchsurfing 1000 times more interesting than staying in other forms of accommodation. The ability to have a locals insight into a city and to hear about their travel adventures is irreplaceable.
