About Me
Hi there!
I’m a curious Dutch girl, always looking to connect with people and dive into new cultures. I believe the best way to truly understand a place is through its people, food, and daily life—not just ticking off tourist spots.
I love meaningful conversations, spontaneous adventures, and discovering the hidden gems of any city. I’m easygoing, respectful, and always happy to share stories, laughter, and a bit of Dutch culture—maybe even cook a homemade meal if you’re up for it.
For some years now me and my partner Michel are living together in the city of Woerden. We've got a guest room and would be happy to welcome you: please read My Home before requesting.
⚠️ Important ⚠️
Unfortunately some think it is okay to use CS for potential hook ups. It is not! Couchsurfing should be about genuine connecting, without any risk to be harmed. I am NOT interested in any contact of that kind. Use other apps for that, and let CS be a safe space for everyone. Thank you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on CS because I've experienced how nice it is to show foreign travellers my hometown and the things we do in the Netherlands. It makes me meet people from all over the world, hearing a lot of their international stories and having a great time together. :)
When couchsurfing myself it has always been a way to connect with others and to discover other parts of the world from a non-touristy angle.
Interests
Cycling, hiking, sailing, indoor wall climbing (because there is no such thing as Dutch mountains), swimming, going to music concerts and dancing. And ofcourse: meeting new people!

Music, Movies, and Books
I do not read many books, but I would still call myself a bookwurm. Because when a book catches my interest, I will finish it as soon as possible. You'll find me reading in bed, carrying it around in the train and getting lost in it during my lunchbreaks. Ha ha.
Listening music is something I do more often, almost every day. There are a lot of music genres I like: rock, soul, metal, alternative, dance, pop, classical and punk. And the favourite genre keeps shifting. While writing this , my favourite genre is Dutch Pop and international soul/funk. It might be something completely different when we get the chance to meet.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
All those times when people told me not to go traveling as a solo woman. I proved them wrong by experiencing that the world has mostly good people, wherever I go.

Enjoying life will make you live longer. If it doesn't, at least you've got to enjoy it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
When surfing: I'm a tidy person who's flexible in adjusting to your (worklife) rhytm. I would love to cook for you, get to know you and explore the area with you. Even though; I also need some time by myself. Since a few years I've been together with Michel and I'm probably bringing him as well :-) He's a really relaxed and easy-going guy. Don't be scared by his height; he's almost 2 metres tall. He has a CS profile himself: https://couchsurfing.page.link/LGvttDJRuog4mQTy9
When hosting: We can offer you the guest room with a double bed in it. We've got bicycles available to use to explore the area. Our house is situated nearby the four big Dutch cities, which are easy accessable by bike or by train. Would love to taste one of your national dishes and will definetely try to cook you one as well! Because of my job in health care, my schedule varies from day-, to evening- and nightshifts, so it might not always be easy to spend time together. But I actually like the combination of spending time together and spending some time apart. We will have plenty of tips for activities to do by yourself. We will make it work!
