About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See new places, meet new people, write stories and draw comics!

ABOUT ME

I am a lively person with lots of curiosity. I live in a commune apartment with 2 friends and my boyfriend and sometimes we also have a spare room for other friends or travelers.

Right now I am writing book nr 2 in a sci fi comic book series with a comic artist colleague of mine. The first book in the series is called "Jannah - sista året på jorden" (Jannah - the last year on earth) and is available in swedish bookstores and in online bookshops since mars 2016.

In my spare time I enjoy painting and sketching, going to the theater, opera and watching tv series and documentaries.

PHILOSOPHY

I guess my philosophy is to find magic in the everyday moments of life. To make experiences special by really being in the moment, wether I'm standing alone on a mountain top or in a crowd in the middle of a city, to just take a breath and be thankful for that moment of life and all it has to offer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Me and my sister (Ulrika) travelled to New Orleans a couple of years ago and had the most amazing time couch surfing!
We wanted to experience New Orleans for real, with local people so for two days we stayed with a couple of college guys who took us to a place called moonshine cinema (really cool hipster hangout!) which was a bar and cinema in a backyard garden. They also taught us frisbee golf in the park (fun!) and drove us to some locations of the city where there was really cool graffiti on the houses.

We then surfed on to our next host, Sid, who was totally amazing. He had chickens in the back yard and we got to stay on the upper floor of his beautiful house which he had renovated from a Katrina-wreck into a dream house. Sid introduced us to his super friendly neighbors at a cozy dinner party and they all treated us as if we were family, inviting us to come and visit them at the aquarium were they worked the following day. We then spent the best and most unexpected day hanging out with giant turtles, nice penguins and cuddling with baby owls.

After our stay at Sids place we stayed at a hotel the last couple of days, but met up with Sid to go to a theater show and have dinner again, cause we had such a great time with him and his friends! Really nice and cool people with humor and their hearts in the right place!

Music, Movies, and Books

Some swedish artist I like are Veronica Maggio (singer songwriter/pop), Robyn (r'n'b), Abba (70's/80's pop), Anna Ternheim (singer songwriter), Chords (hip hop) and many more.

Books, well I mostly read graphic novels so in that category I can recommend: Preacher, Y the last man, My New York Diary (by Julie Doucet), Strangers in paradise, Persepolis (by Marjane Satrapi), Sandman, Blankets and so many more, if you're into comics I'd gladly have a chat about it!

Movies... well, I guess I watch mostly documentaries, sci fi and drama, but I try to see every graphic novel adaptation I can find. Some films I enjoyed are: Being John Malkovich, Inception, Ghost world, Gravity, Diary of a teenage girl.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bathing in hot spring in Iceland! Amazing experience! The cold air, the stillness of the landscape and the volcanic hot water was unforgettable.
Scuba diving in Malaysia! Down under the surface, seeing the coral reef, the silence, all the beautifully colored fishes, it was like dreaming wide awake!

Teach, Learn, Share

Since drawing comics is my work I can teach you all the skills in making a comic. I usually have courses for children and young adults where I teach them different techniques in drawing and what to consider when creating a story.
