About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To never stop learning and developing, always challenge myself and help in any way I can. Go travelling again as soon as possible:)
ABOUT ME
I am originally from Stockholm, Sweden but am currently living and working in Helsinki. I have studied to become a special aid teacher and therefore lived in Vaasa, Finland for four years. I enjoyed my studies tremendously, even though it has sometimes been a bit too much to do. I am politically involved and have been very active in different boards, mostly in student politics. I love to read, go to the theater or concerts, art exhibitions, watch movies, spend time with my friends, travel and get to know new people. I am ambitious and according to my sister (who is my best friend) a bit crazy. I love to travel and try new stuff, every summer I go up north to hike in the mountains, I also scuba dive (though I have only gotten to the advanced level), ride, sail, swim, ski, skate... I love to try new things and hate to be bad at things...:) I am a great looser, as long as I win...;)
Ok, here's a personality test, so I won't have to tell you everything myself...;)
I am more outgoing than the average female is. When people interact with me, they immediately notice that I am not shy about meeting and greeting new people. This is one of the most influential parts of my personality.
I am sensitive to my feelings and moods, but not oversensitive.
When it comes to certain tasks, I am less organized and detailoriented than most females are. On the other hand, I am more flexible than the average female is. Both aspects will stand out to people. This is one of the guiding parts of my personality.
I am more adventurous than most females are. Most females like to stick to the patterns and things they know. This is an area where my personality stands out when compared to other females. Because other people tend to be more afraid of change and novelty, I am seen as an explorer and breath of fresh air in comparison.
This is a guiding part of my personality.
I care more about the feelings and opinions of other people than most females do. Most females keep some space between themselves and the problems of other people. I try to as well, but often have a harder time doing it. My empathy and concern for other
people are guiding parts of my personality.
I make decisions in a way that is similar to the way that most females make decisions. Most females follow their gut instinct or heart when making decisions, even if it may seem slightly illogical to do so.
The average female and male feel most comfortable in an environment that is semi-structured and stable. They enjoy finishing a project more than they enjoy beginning a project. I am somewhat different in this regard: I like the excitement of open-ended possibilities. This is a guiding part of my personality.
PHILOSOPHY
Catch the day, everyday.
Live your life the best you can. When you get old you only regret the things you didn't do.
Do to others what you wish they would do for you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Everyone are welcome to crash at my place, I have a small two room apartment in Helsinki, within walking distance from the center. I love to cook and bake, so you will never starve if you crash at my place:)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couch surfed many times at friends houses before I actually became a member of the couch surfing project... It is the best way to travel and actually get to know people, see the places you didn't know that you wanted to see and having fun at the same time:)
So far my official couch surfing experiences are
January 2007: signed up after reading articles on couch surfing, got involved straight away, it is such a great idea!
February 2007:
Had my first couch surfer staying at my place, Kiltboy69, he was really nice but unfortunately I was busy, but got to show him at least some of my parts of Vaasa...:)
Met some of the couch surfers in Vasa
March 2007:
Was interviewed by the local paper on couch surfing, was on page two, full page... The week after everyone kept saying "hey, I saw you at the paper last Sunday, I'm gonna sign up as well!"
Also met Kalevi and had the best time hanging out with him, he is such a great person and we had a great time, even though I lost my voice due to my allergy to smoking... But hey, the radio interview on couch surfing was post phoned and the reporter could interview Kal too, not only me, which was great:))
April 2007:
Meeting for CS:ers at allmänna galleriet 925, Stockholm
Had the interview for the radio station
May 2007:
Had Rami staying with me, which was really nice and I seriously hope we will stay in touch, I am counting on seeing you in Perth next summer (or Australian winter)!
June 2007:
George stayed at my place in Vasa, unfortunately while I was in Sweden, since my brother was graduating... So I wasn't able to show him any of the "sights" in Vasa...:(
July 2007:
Moved to Helsinki, so haven't had any Couch surfers crashing at my place for a while. Have now moved in, so everyone are welcome again:)

Music, Movies, and Books
Love to read, always have. I read everything, but prefer books that leaves some kind of print in me. At the moment I am reading some books on women's history and liberation and like twenty books for my masters...
Music: depends on the mood. Listen to music from all genres; alternative, rock, country, classical, opera... gets most of my music from my sister, my brother and friends.
Movies: same as music and books. Enjoys all genres, depending on the mood. I prefer dramas, but somtimes you just need a really sick comedy to relax, an action, thriller, sci fi, fantasy or whatever.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last summers vacation was definately a hit; me and my sister travelled to Norway to scuba dive (get our advanced divers certificate), then we went up north with "Hurtigrutten" and then hiked in the mountains from Narvik, Norway to Kebnekajse, the highest mountain in Sweden.
Sleeping outside under the stars in the middle of the winter (-10 degrees) with my friends after some swimming in a hole in the ice and a bath in a heated outside bathtub (heated with a fire, it is hard to explain)
All performances at Dalhalla, an old kalcium mine in Dalarna, Sweden. There is no comparisson to watching an opera while the sun sets and everything reflects in that clear lake at the bottoom of the mine where the stage is... And the acoustics...
I loved my travels in Australia, went down the east coast staying with my (ex) boyfriend and his scubadiver instructor friends in a house. I have no idea how many that actually stayed there, people came and left and it was just awesome:)) My 25:th birthday I celebrated with my family at Sydneys opera house... The best birthday ever!!!
Teach, Learn, Share
Shared joy is double joy. To be generous is more rewarding than to be suspicious to people you meet:)
