About Me

I'm a mexican medical student, I'm 23 years old.
My dad's a chef so I have a great appreciation for food, I love gastronomy. So I can cook, but I like baking more, brownies are my specialty.
I love animals, I have 2 dogs & 4 cats.
I really like history, and learning about other people's cultures, is quite fascinating learning the ways of being of other people, and what makes them that way.
My favorite things to do in the world are traveling, learning languages, going to concerts and eating delicious food.
Fun fact about me: I can say "I love you" in 15 different languages.

I love yoga, I practice ashtanga yoga. I'm a tea person, I have every kind of tea you can imagine.
I love the cinema, and tv shows, I'm the one my friends go to when they want to watch something, my favorite movie genre is Psychological thrillers. When it comes to shows I love drama & sci-fi.
I love partying, clubbing, bars, but I can also stay at home watching netflix, there's no problem with that. My favorite drinks: tequila, jagermeister, beer (specially porter) and red wine (tempranillo & cabernet are my fave).
I'm not a big fan of watching sports on tv (only american football), but I really enjoy watching sports live, being there, it feels different.

I'm part of a huge medical organization called IFMSA, I have a regional position which makes me in charge of capacity building all over the Americas; therefore I have experience delivering workshops on leadership, communication skills, teambuilding, motivation, and any soft skills. I love helping people out, and I truly believe that by delivering these workshops, I help people become the best version of themselves.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling. but there comes a point when my parents can't keep on financing all of my travels, and they've helped me a lot, so now I'm looking for cheaper ways to get to know the world, because there's no way I'm stopping now.

I had an awesome experience in Brazil with couchsurfing, I was traveling with a friend and he had an account, so his host accepted the both of us, it turned out he loved Mexico and mexican food, he was very kind, we even cooked for him, so I got a very nice first impression of couchsurfing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 17 years old, I started a students' association in my high school called HOPE, who's ojective was taking kids to Mexico city for their radiotherapies, since they didn't have the equipment to do so for kids in mi city. We would sell our old clothes in local markets, and food at school events, and do as much as we could to make money. Also during christmas, we bought presents for the children with cancer and went to the pediatrics hospital and threw a party for them.
I'm 23 now, and that association still exists in my old high school, and they're still helping children with cancer, which makes me very happy since I want to be an oncologist (cancer doctor).

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: English, Spanish or Portuguese. Or "I love you" in 15 different languages haha. I can also teach cooking and baking. I can teach any of the workshops I'm capacitated to deliver. I can teach anatomy if interested haha, and ashtanga yoga (only the first series though).

I'd love to learn phrases in other languages, and mostly about culture, costumes, typical dishes, traditions, etc.

What I Can Share with Hosts

First of all I can cook, which is pretty nice. But mostly good talks, I like getting to know people which makes me very talkative, but I'm also a good listener, so I'll be nice company.
I can share my traveling experiences and advices, and anything they'd like to know about mexican culture.
I always take tequila and mexican sweets with me, so they'll get a taste of that as well haha.
I'm very open minded, and can adjust easily to any situation.
