About Me

Autumn 2019: I‘m planning to bike through France, maybe Italy to look at some of the art and architecture I see in books all day, happy about recommendations and accommodations! :)

Hi, nice to meet you (eventually)!

My name is Friederike and I’m a BFA art history student from Berlin, Germany and an ex global traveller :)

I'm a friendly, yet sarcastic girl; someone who likes conversation, social events and a little party here and there, but also silence and the calm; I love intellectual talks and museums as well as silly puns and dancing and I'm generally a happy and grateful person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I'll be traveling solo, I thought I'd give Couchsurfing a try to instantly meet new people, feel a little more homely than at a hostel, maybe sneakily get some insider tips on the area and have someone to share a glass of wine with in the evening.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music is currently very fluctuating, but mostly I enjoy some alternative rock. I like The Vaccines, Jake Bugg, Milky Chance and of course the classics, like Bob Dylan, The Doors, The Beatles, Elton John and more. From time to time I binge-hear slightly bad german rap, but those are phases.

Moviewise I admire everything from Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino, but like other films and Directors as well. Love Tina Fey and 30rock, The Sopranos, Seinfeld, Breaking Bad and so much more.

Regarding Books I just read 'Johnny and Jean' by Teresa Präauer, which was quite exceptional, loved ‚7 days in the art world’ by Sarah Thornton and Daniel Schreiber‘s Susan Sontag biography.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

From 2016 to 2017 I travelled westwards around the globe, which was absolutely wonderful. To me amazement lies in the little things.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to teach my native tongue , or some vegetarian cooking skills, maybe some ballet exercises, some volunteering experiences and tips, I could also offer babysitting and dog sitting and provide some art fun facts.

I'd love to learn something about your neighborhood and anything else you're passionate about or interested in!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good time, my fairly developed cooking skills, a bottle of wine on me, a short or longterm friendship, an open ear, a good conversation, a visit to the museum, some stories, a little german culture, a friendly and grateful attitude...
