About Me
Hi, my name is Friederike but you can call me Freddy!
I'm originally from Germany. But ever since I was really young I had the urge of traveling and exploring the world. After I finished school I lived for a year in Thailand, teaching English and living at a really cute host-family. Currently, I am studying in the Netherlands, Groningen. And I guess that's it for the formal part.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, that's a good question... I guess I am on couchsurfing, because I prefer living at local places over hotels and hostels. I prefer to stay in personal places because you have the opportunity to learn a lot more about the culture, find new friends and have more fun! I really like to get to know a place through the eyes of a local. Every travel destination is much more interesting if you explore it with locals and get to know their stories! So if you wanna show me around, I am definitely in!
Interests
Personally, I am an openminded person. I love to talk to people, get to know their history, and am always open for a good debate. Further, I love food. No joke, I love it. When you're up for cooking something, I am 100% in. I'm really interested in sustainability and food. I try to buy as much local and organic as possible but I really don't mind if other people don't do. For me, it is important that everybody can do what he or she likes to do. I enjoy art, good movies, and concerts and many kinds of sport, especially climbing, yoga, surfing, & snowboarding. The rest I will tell you if we meet, depending on if you wanna know it!

Music, Movies, and Books
I really listen to many kinds of music. but if I should pick one genre it would probably be indie. Oh yeah... and the Beatles are never a wrong choice.
One of my favorite books is definitely Hector's Voyage or the Search for Happiness written by Francois Lelord.
I like arthouse movies, stuff Wes Anderson creates is amazing, french movies, and movies which try to teach you something about life
