We are a young married couple, based in Pretoria, South Africa, who love exploring our diverse country & want to experience real, normal life in different towns, countries & continents across the world.

Mareesa has been to Europe & North America before, but Friedl is a travel virgin, and keen to go absolutely everywhere!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We are still new at the game but have heard great reports form friends and colleagues. We super excited to meet other CS in our home and on our travels.

Interests

We have a couple of inters, like reading, drawing, people, music lots of music. Friedl also very much into movies, and Mareesa thinks he'll be brilliant at it.

MOVIES

Friedl is obsessed with movies & sees everything he can get his hands on / make time for.

Mareesa really like them too and, fortunately for Friedl, she also appreciates indie & foreign cinema. He's still working on getting her to like the black & white stuff, though.

MUSIC

Our tastes in music were made for each other - we love Cat Power, Yo La Tengo, Fiona Apple, Radiohead, Sufjan Stevens, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Camera Obscura, The Shins, The National etc etc

BOOKS

We love books.

Friedl is currently reading 'War Child' by Emmanuel Jal.

Mareesa is currently reading 'Emma' by Jane Austen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We got married under Willow & Poplar trees in a beautiful valley between the Sandstone Cliffs of Clarens, in the Freestate Province in South Africa. It was beautiful & amazing.
