About Me
CURRENT MISSION
take it as it comes
ABOUT ME
'all about me' is a lot, but you can be sure that i most of all like all that makes me MOVE!
Salsaaa, capoeira, and good old Aretha Franklin... Singing is a never ending addiction :-) Besides the art of music I like all kinds of art, paintings of Alechinsky, Klimt and Hundertwasser, architecture and design, photography, and njummie art in the kitchen ;-) It frees the soul and spirit, and is to me both a guide and purpose of living.
I like being outdoors and fillin my longs with 100% fresh air. I go jogging & race cycling on a weekly basis, practice yoga regularly. I skydived in New Zealand and planning a next jump in South Africa!, I treasure walking the jungle in the rain, swim with dolphins and hike the amazing tracks in NZ/Spanish Pyrenees/Ecuador.
And... Belgian chocolate is the best!
PHILOSOPHY
Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss it you will land among the stars

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My CS experience considers meetings, in Bruges and Ghent, hosting in all places I lived so far, and surfing every country I go if possible. I just love to share stories with people from around the world, and feel everywhere at once :-)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
People help the people FOR FREE, I take great pride and gratefulness in that
Interests
I'm really interested in Ayurveda, the Indian life science, about how everything is energy and how we can influence that energy and turn into positive. Although I'm interested in western science as well, I don't believe it makes us a better person, and I feel a strong need to combine it with spirituality and respect towards all forms of life. Like an indian, only take what's needed to survive, like a buddhist, give in order to live.
A never ending and ever-been-there interest is art, from pencil sketches and Beatrix Potter drawings, over impressionist and Cobra painting, to fotography of all kinds. Whereever I walk or cycle or run I tend to absorb the surrrounding nature with an eye for light and shadow, and see it become a painting or picture. And the other way round, I love spending time in front of a favorite painting, loosing myself in it as it comes alive in my imagination.

Music, Movies, and Books

Listen to: Arsenal! If you want to party!! SELAH SUE, Melody Gardot, Eva Cassidy
As for music, I love leaving this planet with Jazz heartbeats from Coltrane, singing swing jazz Ella Fitzgerald and Fred Astair on my bike, dancing Aretha Franklin/ drum'n base and R&B, relax with Beethoven's piano sonats and Rachmaninov, coming back to life with salsa, and drift away when playing Michael Nymann or Yann Tiersen (Amélie Poulain) on the piano.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Fos d'Iguaçu, cycling down volcanoes like the Etna (Sicily) and Cotopaxi (Ecuador), skydiving above Lake Taupo, playing around with Dusky dolphins, scuba diving the Fiji reefs, spotting prehistorical birds in the Ecuadorian and Australian jungle
