Music, Movies, and Books

Anything from what I can learn and invites for dialogue .

Lately I am more in the mood of documentaries: Shock Doctrine, Food Inc, Inside Job,...

Movies: Bombay beach, waltz with bashir, In the mood for love, requiem for a dream, pi, night on earth, coffee and cigarettes, ghostdog, ghost world, Festen (aka The celebration),..........

Music: some jazz, some funky, some electronic, some bossa nova, few dub, few classic, some reggae, some turntablism, some rap, some hiphop, few pop and rock, hardcore, grunge, heavy metal ,punk (this last 3 are from my teenage ;) ) . Now listening to a lot of brazilian music quite often (capoeira, samba and bossa nova)

Books -I am afraid I am an awful reader, but some books I can recall: All the names and blindness from Saramago, Wolf of the steppes. Books tend to accumulate on my shelves...unread...I read less than I'd like.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visiting the Belen neighbourhood, the most depraved in Iquitos (Peru), meeting people there and going with them to some villages lost in the Amazonian river. Then, when going up the river in the darkness, I was completely amazed of the millions of fireflies all around, lights in the silent dark... But the most amazing thing is realising the impact that you have on such communities (for good and for bad), the everyday effort and difficulties that this people goes through and how selfish, we, the so-called develop world are. So what is really incredible is the selfishness of the "developed world", and how we lie to ourselves. I've seen that and I see it every day. I did it as well and I still do it sometimes... but less and less :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share ideas, feelings, the secret recipe of the "tortilla de patatas" and some capoeira moves/songs and instruments.
