About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See the world, before I grow grey hairs.
ABOUT ME
I'm a 41 year old guy. After my study I didn't want to settle yet, so I went on a trip around the world. I came back in April 2009. After working for over 3 years in the seeds business (ehm...just flower and vegetable seeds) the economic crisis hit me. I worked some periods for a health insurance company. Since the start of this year I work for a toys company. In the meantime I have plenty of time to host Couchsurfers.
I love laughing, travelling, photography, going out, playing/watching football(or soccer for the Americans), cycling, watching movies, meeting people from other cultures and just having fun.
PHILOSOPHY
Not original, but so true:
Carpe diem!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have a 4 bedroom-house in Joure where I live on my own. I have one guest bedroom, but there's enough space in the other rooms or literally on the couch to have more people. I would like to show you around(by car, bike or on foot), have a drink or maybe visit a football match of our local heroes SC Heerenveen.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I surfed a couch in Perth, Australia. Which was a really good experience. And I've hosted a few Couchsurfers, which was good fun.
Interests
Travelling ;-)
Movies
Reading(although I should do that more often)
Sports:football is my favourite, but I also like many other sports like cycling and hiking. This month I've cycled the 11-city tour(230km) for the 7th year in a row.
Meeting people
Having a nice fire in my backyard

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have walked the beautiful Tongariro Crossing in New Zealand, snorkled in Fiji, cycled to the top of the Mont Ventoux, traveled by car trough the Ukraine, cycled the Golden Gate Bridge, played a game of football in New York's Central Park, cycled the bay of Saint Tropez, walked the streets of Pompeï, partied on Crete, watched Arsenal at Highbury and Liverpool at Anfield, tried steetfood in Laos, climbed the temples of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, had some tasty beers in Belgium, celebrated New Years eve's in Brisbane, London, Berlin, Cologne and Bremen and hope to make this list much longer.
