About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Think about the near future and stay tranquilla as I should. "It'll all come out in the wash", as Mr. Wonka says.

ABOUT ME

I love scivofare, the smell of popcorn, comics without heros and dolci, speaking Italian, meeting people, sitting on a Campo reading and watching life go by

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

On my tour through Italy I was hosted and loved it, a great experience. Sadly I don't have a couch to offer, but when I settle down in a place and have the opportunity, I'd love to take in people and show them around.

Interests

Maybe I'm lazy, or maybe I'm just what in German is called a Genießer (someone who savors life). I love sleeping, eating, reading books or comics and having nice people around me. I'm addicted to the cinema, not only to movies but to the actual event of going to an old little cozy cinema, smell the popcorn and ice cream, hear the gong and watch the curtain opening slowly. I'm happiest when just walking around Venice, not having to think about anything, savoring the moment, the wind, the smell of the lagoon, the subtle sound of tiny waves against a fondamenta and raindrops on my umbrella, and dreaming up the ideal future.

Music, Movies, and Books

"Gian Burrasca", "Dandelion wine", "Empire Falls", "The Yiddish policemen's union", "Emil und die Detektive", everything by Will Eisner and Michael Ende, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" , "The illustrated Mum", everything I read so far by John Irving and many more. "Amacord", "Nosferatu", "M", "Doktor Mabuse", Luigi Lo Cascio and Alan Rickman, "Radio Days", "Breakfast on Pluto", "Down by Law", "Caro Diario", "The Jungle Book" ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going home from a party during the Carnevale in Venice, I saw two horses cross the bridge delle Guglie at four in the morning. Seeing animals, other than fish, dogs and birds in Venice is very rare already. But to find myself infront of two horses climbing a bridge in the middle of the night was really a magical moment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to repair bikes (at least the easy stuff), drill holes and bake cookies.

I'd like to learn Portugese and how to sew a dress.

Austria, Canada, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, United States
