About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to keep moving

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Fritz from Hamburg. I'm relaxed and warm-hearted, like to be exposed to new ideas and ways of living, and overall, I don't take things too seriously. Nor myself. I'm into love electronic music and nature and environmental protection and literature and hiking and dancing and drinking and stuff.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Beyond the obvious – I believe in the idea of flexibility, kindness, reciprocity and, in general, have a positive view of the world. I like to share and learn.

Interests

I'm a reporter for a weekly newspaper, so I always have a good excuse for curiosity. I try to approach life and people without expectations, without making an image of how things are supposed to be. That's pretty much the philosophy of CS, but I'm working on importing this into my daily life.
I write for a weekly paper about environment and wildlife and culture and everything that interests me. Change, for me, starts with sharing, let it be knowledge, kindness, a pizza or some of your time, and that change is the essence of what makes life interesting.

Music, Movies, and Books

books:
nassim taleb: antifragility
dostojewskij: the brothers karamazov
max frisch: stiller
kolbert: the 6th extinction
rowling: harry potter (all of them!)

music:
eclectic mix of folks like FM Belfast, Retro Stefson, Ben Klock, David August, DJ Hell, Extrawelt, Ezra Furman, Hot Chip, Jacques Dutronc, Pantha Du Prince, Reptile Youth, Kakkmaddafakka, Samaris, Stereo Total

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In general, it's more about the small than the big things. What left a mark was spending a week with the Minangkabau people, a matriarchal society in Western Sumatra, or a trip with whale researchers off the coast of Iceland.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have more to learn than to share, but I'll bring some beer or wine, share stories, play new music and cook a decent (vegetarian) meal.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A bottle of wine and electronic music.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Côte d'Ivoire, Denmark, Georgia, Greece, Iceland, Indonesia, Italy, Netherlands, Oman, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany, United States
