About Me

ABOUT ME

I am... a dreamer, an explorer, a language enthusiast.

I like... morning mist and crisp autumn air, the taste of coffee and bitter sweet chocolate, the touch of piano keys and violin strings, extraordinary hats, good conversations, sneaking into playgrounds and other stuff I'm obviously too old for

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Although I tend to be a sceptical person I was mostly overwhelmed by the friendliness of all the warm-hearted people that welcomed me at their places - definitely the most intense way of traveling I have experienced yet.

Interests

Music (playing the piano/violin/viola or just enjoying some good songs), literature (inspiring books and writing), being creative in any way (sewing, embroidering, knitting, painting...), cuisine and bakery, discovering nature, fooling around with friends, learning new languages, dancing till my feet ache, practicing yoga and biking around the city

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't restrict my taste of music just to a limited kind of style... I like listening to lots of things from Bach to Björk, from baroque oratorios to avantgardistic electro music. I'm always happy to find a new interesting artist :)
Generally I like folk rock/acoustic, Scandinavian music, soft electro sounds and everything original and surprising. Have lately started getting into Medieval and Early Music, too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been "stranded" in an Icelandic Fishing village and recorded songs with my amazing host.

Climbed a volcano in Indonesia.

Oh, and so many more small and big things.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you...

... how to cook delicious things, using random ingredients and leftovers you might find in your fridge

... how to knit an Icelandic jumper

... how to play simple tunes on the violin or the piano

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories, knitting/sewing patterns, my favourite recipes (with an extra demonstration how to prepare them, of course).

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Morocco, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Wales
