PHILOSOPHY
Reverence for Wild Places, Dynamic Equilibrium, Connection is Primary
APPROACH
You might catch me in a city, but probably not for long, unless there are some good craft breweries.
I enjoy engaging directly with the ways of being in wild and remote places. I love being close to the land and the ways of the people who are most intimate with that land. Often times this means learning traditional foraging, hunting, trapping and fishing techniques, travelling in the wilderness, and putting this knowledge to use in connecting to place.
Where subsisting from the land is not appropriate, I prefer to travel by bicycle or on foot in the places I'm visiting. I love to sit with a place and have the time to learn it's cycles and patterns. I also enjoy moving and observing shifts in landforms and plant communities as I go.
