About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I was born under a wanderin' star...
ABOUT ME
Returning to the world of couchsurfing as it nourished my earlier life as solo wanderer. I return with my seven year old son, to teach him the joys of travel and adventure and world friendships.
Together we love exploring new places, cultures, food and languages.
Occasionally I might even have a little solo adventure again!
Currently we are unable to host due to rental restrictions but am hoping this can change in the not too distant future. However we are happy to show people round or give tips on good places to visit in Cornwall. I don't drive so am pretty genned up on the local public transport system (and sometimes lack thereof!)
PHILOSOPHY
to even love those I would profess to hate...!

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies:
Any Pedro Almodovar,Hideous Kinky,Holy Smoke, Amelie,Beautiful Sunshine of a Spotless Mind (seems to be a bit of a Kate Winslett thing going on here), Rabbit Proof Fence,Motorcycle Diaries,Les Amants de Pont Neuf, probably many more, these are just off the top of my head.
Music:
Eclectic: Nina Simone, Nick Drake, Verdi, Faithless, Belle and Sebastian, Tracy Chapman, The Killers, Bob Marley,Gotan Project...the list goes on, depends on my mood.
Books:
Currently on smuggling tales of Daphne Du Maurier. Loved The Curious Tale of the Dog at Nightime. Inspired by God of Small Things,Arandhati Roy(I was working for her Mother in Kerala when she was writing it.Unfortunately didnt meet Arandhati but hosted by her husband, himself a very interesting naturalist and film-maker).Margaret Atwood. Alice Sebold. Audrey Niffinger.James Frey. A bit of Jung.Dictionaries.
The Thesaurus. Books about travel, art, music, life.I also like reading scores...music scores - figuring out and humming a new tune on a bus, instead of reading The Evening Standard.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sharing my love of India with my Mum. Riding three deep on a motorbike with her and Shabir, a Kashmiri jeweller, round the backroads of Goa at breakneck speed to catch the sunset at Arumbol. I swear, I thought I was going to end up in a ditch. Seeing my Mum grinning from ear to ear made all the sunstroke, aching limbs and sore arse worth it!
This entry will probably change as time and life moves on... ;-)
Teach, Learn, Share
Most things arty...painting,drawing,jewellery making, theatre, singing, writing. Love to skill share.
Massage and intuitive healing. A good listener too!
Always up for learning new skills, so that I can then teach them to the next person!
