About Me
Hey, hola, jónapot, こんにちは, bonjour, hoi
*just exhausted my google translate-free hellos here*
So hey friend!
My name is Fruzsi, and I'm a Budapest-based human rights enthusiast and travelbug. There's nothing I enjoy more than eating strange food with strangers at strange places. Hail couchsurfing!
According to my mom, i'm not 100% getting a scholarship and moving to Tokyo when I was 16, then came back to Hungary, then leaving for the Netherlands then for half a year traveling across Europe pursuing conferences and workshops - to expand my knowledge and to see the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I cannot be not cliché here: couchsurfing is the best way to meet locals and to travel on a budget. And when Im low on money to travel, but have the time to hang out, I put my spare room up here to still meet amazing people from around the world. :)
Interests
I am interested in human rights, especially equal rights and freedom of speech. I can talk hours about those. And pugs... I can talk even more about pugs. I have one, called Pedro, who is a girl -- upon finding this little obsticle out, we've changed her name to Pedi. She is the world's best worst dog. ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
Well, I got lazy at grad school and decided to write my thesis on chick flicks, so my taste in movies is rather questionable. But when my brain is not on chewing gum with the romcoms, then I turn to human rights related movies: Hidden Figures, Pride, The Help, Blood Diamond, A United Kingdom, Hotel Rwanda etc.
As for music: I like mainstream tracks, but I'm always up for lounge and chill pop. One thing I couldnt get into over my 27 years is variations on techno and metal. I tried. Seriously.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Decided to go on a student exchange at the age of 16 to Tokyo from my Eastern-Hungarian hometown in the middle of nowhere. Because... got the scholarship so why not?
Teach, Learn, Share
You teach me how to cook your food, and I teach you everything I picked up from my mom! Have you ever wanted to pick up some Hungarian phrases? Of course you have! :D This is where I come handy.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can tell you all my theories on fundamental freedoms until you fall asleep. And even after that.
Also, Hungarian recipes!
