About Me
ABOUT ME
Hailing from small-town 'Middle-of-England' roots, I moved to Norwich UK a few years back to study for my degree. The Fine City worked it's magic on me, and I've stayed to study for a Masters here. I lived in Melbourne for the best part of the last year, working for a paper merchant and reading up the time on the long commute to work. That was great but it's also pretty nice to be back. Norwich days are a lovely old tangle of words and bikes and ales and tea. And I try to make as much time for hooping and dancing tango as I can!
Interests
dancing, writing, exploring
I try to gain something from every experience if possible. Like learning about new people, happening upon fantastic stories, growing that little bit wiser.
Down-to-earth pleasures include cooking (veggie), Argentinian tango (I've been dancing for around 5 years), hooping, watching movies, walking, DIY (making and creating), collage, watering my plants, riding my red bike, vintage dresses, books galore and endless cups of tea...
Out-of-this-world pleasures generally involve space suits and moon boots...but I hear it's hard to find intergalatic couches with the right gravity for surfing...

Music, Movies, and Books
Films that have stayed with me are: Leon, Delicatessen, Chinatown, Jan Schvankmajer's 'Alice', Lost in Translation, Magnolia, Kings of the Road, Wings of Desire, The Darjeeling Limited, Dekalog, It Happened One Night, Last Year In Marienbad, Brief Encounter.
Music-wise: If it makes me want to tap my feet I like it. Also if it was in a Wes Anderson movie, then it must be ok.
Highly-regarded authors include: Italo Calvino, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Bruno Schulz, Dylan Thomas, John Steinbeck, Bohumil Hrabal, Ali Smith, W.G Sebald.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once danced tango on the second floor of a three-storey tree house.
Teach, Learn, Share
Always happy to introduce people to tango...so long as you have the standard prescription of feet, they say it's a walk in the park...
...they don't always explain that they're kidding...
