CURRENT MISSION Just seeing many different cultures, meeting local people and learn all the (not) to say Spanish words in the different Hispanic countries :-). Lot's of stories about this. And finally start up a Biol. Station somewhere in the remaining jungle of Latin Am ABOUT ME I'm a quit social person, outgoing, although I do not mind being alone either (something that doesn't happen very often anymore once you have kids ;-) ). I lived for example 5 months in the jungle of Guatemala with the closest "village" (5 houses!) being 45 minute walk away, and the closest real village at about 2.5 hours away, and I loved it! I adapt easily to most people, and am an easy talker, I love talking about traveling, climbing, bugs, the tropics, the meaning of live, cultural differences, language confusions, ...

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I'm an absolute virgin to any kind of "official" couch surfing, I have crashed at peoples places whom I met on trips, and have hosted lots of people which I knew from travels here and there, or who just got my address through friends (of friends).
One Amazing Thing I've Done
The sunrise over the Guatemalan jungle in Peten from the top of Temple IV, I've seen this about 4 times, and I would love to do it many more times, this was one of the most amazing things I've seen. Other amazing things I've experienced are the Inca trail to Machu Picchu; climbing in Meteora (Greece) and in Wadi Rum (Jordan); Paragliding in France, crossing Bolivia on an insect collecting trip with a friend and a baby stroller converted to a "generator cart" while there were torrential rains and landslides everywhere around us ...
