About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Éducation des masses, non. Éducation pour la masse, oui.
I am a (very dedicated) grade 2 French immersion teacher and my husband Damian is a photographer. He is passionate about analog, black and white photography. We like going crosscountry skiing, climbing and biking. We like to go watch movies, share meals or beer with friends, cooking. I like knitting and reading, baking the bread, and growing sprouts. Damian loves doing street photography, kiting and downhill mountain biking. I like being involved in the French comunity of Edmonton.
PHILOSOPHY
Karma.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I spread the word in the world, I share the thing, I host people, I surf couches.
I have hosted people from a few different places in the world and I have been Couchsurfing in US, Mongolia, China, India and Canada. I'm also a member of Warm Shower, which is the same as CS, but for bike travelers. I have hosted few bikers through that.
Interests
I have a big interest in education and kids. I love working with them, and I appreciate it every time. I am a very curious person and I have lots of different interest. Biking, climbing, knitting, cooking, playing music, ultimate frisbee, potluck dinner, music shows, crosscountry skiing, and lot more. I love traveling. By foot, train, bus, car, but especially by BIKE. I love to ride my bike. Every day (not in winter thought) and everywhere in my city. I travelled in Nova-Scotia, Gaspesia and USA on my bike.
Damian is an ultimate passionate of photography (mostly street photography), downhill mountain biking and kiting. He also likes a lot electronic music, snowboarding, crosscountry skiing, computer-technology things, cooking, baking bread, movies, and a lot more!

Music, Movies, and Books
Musique : folk and bluegrass. Tallest Man On Earth. And a LOT of music from Québec. Patrick Watson, Philippe B, Les Colocs, Les Soeurs Boulay, Les Hay Babies, Philippe Brach and so many others. Damian is a fan of electronic music and he used to mix.
Books and movies : Lots of good movies and books come from Québec, and even if I live far from my province, I love watching them and staying connected with French culture. Woody Allen, Tim Burton. Isabel Allende. Stephen King. Books, lots of books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sunrise at Machu Picchu and sunset at the Mt. Everest, northern lights in Yellowknife, fire burial at the Ganges in India, and... going back to University for 4 years, at the age of 28.
Teach, Learn, Share
Knitting, piano, French, English, Spanish, Croatian. I can share with you my passion for piano, my love for biking and climbing. We can also have no time limit conversations about education, schools, unschooling, homeschooling, alternatives schools. We can have no end conversations about eco communities, living together and how to make the world a better place. I'm also a big fan of sprouting, raw food, making my own sourdough bread and feeding my own Kombucha. Kiting and photography.
If you speak French, i MIGHT want to ask you to come visit my student to read a story or talk about you or something you do. I LOOOOVE having guest over in my class. My students are use to it and they love it. Don't be shy please! :-)
