About Me

Traveler from Spain who is currently living in the west coast of the US and enjoy riding a motorcycle. Studied Social Work at Valencia University and been working and living in different countries such as Bulgaria, England or Mexico. Love to hear and share about travel tips and hidden gems that only locals know. One of my passions is to cook and learn how to make dishes from every country I visit, from American bbq to Sri Lankan curries or Italian specialities. Got friends from many different backgrounds and professions, and I have been always interested on cultural differences (positives for my point of view) and the different ways of understanding the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to get in contact with locals and make friends worldwide. Enjoy and discover hidden gems like some spots that only locals would know such as that little restaurant or bar that you shouldn’t miss, that perfect hiking that is not overcrowded or where the closest soccer field is. As well keep my travel cost low so I can travel for longer periods in a different way than staying only at hotels and sharing and receiving any kind of knowledge.

Music, Movies, and Books

If I had to choose 3 categories would be Rock, Reggae and Hip Hop, something that bring good vibes, and better the oldies than new ones. I really like live music.
Three movies would be “Motorcycle diaries”, “Into the wild” and “ Amores perros”.
Three books would be “On the road”, “The godfather” and “Diario de un skin”.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 17 I was an exchange student in a high school in Baton Rouge (Louisiana) being the only white boy at most of the classes, it was really shocking but cool at the same time.
Travel to North Africa when I was 20 with a friend. Finish my studies in Eastern Europe when I was 23 and went for a trip to 11 countries that same year.
Did a volunteer program building houses for people with low or no incomes in Ecuador slums when I finished university.
And now I just bought a motorbike to travel from US to Argentina once the Covid situation gets clear.

Teach, Learn, Share

As we never now everything is always good to leave space to learn and that’s kind of what I like.
I did teach many times to friends at many different places about my favourite dishes such as Swiss raclette, Mediterranean paella or Mexican food. It’s has been always great to introduce new flavors to people that never tried before, and even better when they think they don’t like some ingredient but ending up loving it.
As well I taught Spanish lessons as a professor while I was living in Bulgaria and, even my English is far away from perfect, one of my targets during my next trip to South America is to teach basic English to the kids in bad economical/family situations at some ngo schools.
