Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to live simply, to love grandly and to work with fresh soil under my fingernails.
ABOUT ME
she mail. snail mail? i would like to believe myself to be an earnest person, trying to learn to be an honest human being.
PHILOSOPHY
I try always to be true to myself, even when i feel incredibly awkward. I know that I always feel happier when I am able to embrace all my idiosyncrasies, contradictions and recognize that I am a powerful human being. I hope that as I become more of my own best friend I can extend that love and support to those around me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
just started, but i have heard many good things about CS and i'm excited to be a part of this community.i hope that when i am done traveling this winter and become more settled that i can be a host or at the very least meet up with people for a drink.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In Europe I tried meeting up with several CS hosts and was able to enjoy the hospitality of some who were able to have a tag along traveler. I have traveled the U.S. a bit for climbing trips and to visit friends in different states. I have also been in several different living situations from a van, to dorms, being an R.A., living in a tent, and living in a house with friends.
Interests
I love being outside and simple things, like bike rides. Rock climbing is a usual outdoor past time; I dream of living out of a van and climbing, true dirt bag style. I am also interested in agriculture, having my own garden, supplying my own food as well as doing as much as I can through thrifty inventiveness and the support of my friends.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love books, from historical fiction to fantasy and sci fi to graphic novels. Some of my favorites that I could re-read at any time are LOTR, Into the Wild, Off the Map, Redwall, anything by Charles DeLint or Neil Gaiman, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind and some others. If I don't have a book I'm reading it's because I'm looking for one. I'm teaching myself the mandolin!! I'm not very good but i enjoy it. i enjoy most music but have found myself preferring bluegrass, folk and old honky tonk the most.i have not owned a TV or been in a living situation that has a TV for the last six years, though it does become a hassle when i do want to watch a film. Films that i enjoy include Little Miss Sunshine, Into the Wild (the book too), the Fall, the Goonies, and Miyazaki films (Princess Mononoke, Sprited Away, etc.).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spending three months in India really was amazing, I wish I could have stayed longer. I still get vivid images of the colors and smells from there, even though it was several years ago. I love the desert. Any time I wake up to a sunrise in the desert, or experience the deep reds of windgate sandstone as the sun is setting, all I can do is breath deeply in the amazement that I am alive and experiencing this beauty.
