Hey my name is Fumi and I'm from Osaka, Japan and my partner in crime, Jess, is Aussie from Sydney. We've quit work and are about to start our 6+ month world trip before tying the knot in April 2018!

We love exploring new languages and cultures, trying new cuisine - we will eat ANYTHING - and going off the beaten path to unique locations to really have an adventure :)

I studied at university in Beijing and so have spent over 6 years in China, as well as doing my post grad in Seoul. After meeting in Beijing we lived together in Sydney, followed by Tokyo for 2+ years now. We can both speak Japanese and English, and I can speak fluent Chinese and some Korean, while Jess is working on her Ukrainian.

My background has been in Japanese to Chinese translation, and more recently I have been working in a Japanese startup. Jess studied finance and international business and has been working in a large Japanese tech firm doing business dev for digital anime and manga globally.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We both love to cook so can share Japanese and Korean food and culture with you, along with Japanese + Chinese + English language and Aussie drinking culture ;) Jess is trained in traditional Japanese tea ceremony and flower arranging (ikebana) so can teach you the basics of these arts.
