Overview
About Me
I love the arts and learning about new cultures. I volunteer with exchange students and have hosted several (which is why I haven't hosted any Couchsurfers, though I did meet one for coffee and had a great time). I have been so fortunate to learn about different cultures and gain a greater understanding of other worldviews.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I live in Maine, which can be a very xenophobic place. There's a big stigma on being "from away" here. Well, I love people from away. I love *being* away. I have really not done a lot of traveling, but what I have done has been meaningful, and the people I've met from other countries have influenced my life in lasting ways. I like the Couchsurfing approach of bringing people together to help everyone have a more authentic experience. I'm not really interested in fancy hotels for the most part. I'd rather be where people are.
Interests
Art, languages, writing, theater, wandering, shopping, setting up travel itineraries online that I know I'm not going to buy...
I'm definitely more of an indoorsy kind of person, but I like going to parks and love the ocean.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I think I have a good sense of humor and an open mind. I like to learn things and want to know what people think. I'm happy to help out around the house. I'm pretty adaptable. If you like to write or act or make movies, I'd love to take part. I'm not a super advanced tech kind of person, but if you need help with a website or something there's a good chance I can manage that. It depends on what you need!
