I work as an engineer for a fiber optics company. Cool gizmo's. I build furniture as a hobby. Hike. Whitewater raft. Bike everywhere. Portland is great to get around without a car.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just joined. But would love to host. And surf. I've biked from Seattle to Portland and met a guy on the rode that we rode the rest of the trip together. He rode from Boston to Seattle and CSed over the summer. I'm jelous. Met people at hostels that surf.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Haven't had any yet. Friends, relatives, college. Lived for a summer in Alaska on the floor in the living room.

Interests

Biking. Building. Hiking. Camping. Backpack camp/hike. 3-4 day trips with tent and sleeping bag. How things work(enginerd). Anthropology. Zoology.

Book-Guns, Germs, and Steel. Mostly I read nonfiction. Movie--Fight Club. Project Human. After seeing that I quit the job I had.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked to the rim of Mt St Helen's. The volcano still has "building" going on. The top of the mountain is gone. WOW. The power of nature.
