About Me

I consider myself as a quiet person. I generally avoid attending any crowded events, large group tours, parties, etc (with an exception for music concerts, of course).

I love exploring places without any specific plan, I can pointlessly walk for hours.

My primary interest in life is music, though I don't have any formal education on this part (yet). So many ways to produce music, so many wonderful instruments, so little time...

Sometimes I dream to become a bush pilot somewhere above the Arctic Circle. Fortunately for my life expectancy, this is unlikely to happen.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love jazz fusion, progressive rock and a bit of avantgarde classical music. If you need some keywords, I'm a big fan of (random order) John Zorn, Frank Zappa, Pekka Pohjola, Rush, Peter Hammill, Van der Graaf Generator, Kneebody, Joe Zawinul, King Crimson, Adrian Belew's solo works, Avishai Cohen, Hiromi Uehara, Yes (early albums), sometimes Dream Theater, LTE, Ayreon, Tony Levin's solo works and the Stick Men project, etc. As for something more classical, I like Stravinsky (especially his "russian" period), Bartok, a bit of Schoenberg, Britten, Berio.

And as for reading, I like sci-fi/'social' fiction, incl. Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Stanislaw Lem, Strugatsky brothers, George Orwell, Philip K. Dick, Arthur C. Clarke, etc. For something a bit different, I enjoy David Foster Wallace's language and consider the "Infinite Jest" as one of my all-time favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I find the life itself amazing enough. Can't pick any particular event so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can talk for hours about music, musical instruments and/or fx units (it doesn't mean though I can play any of them acceptably good). I'd be glad to learn more myself about these topics.
I can teach you a few Russian words if you'd be interested for whatever reason, or help you practice it if you're already studying this language. I'd be glad to learn some basics of a new language.
I can show you some basic bicycle maintenance/adjustments, but I don't carry my toolkit around unless I'm travelling with my bike myself.
