About Me

I've been homesteading in rural NE Missouri for the past 6-7 years; building a roundwood timber frame strawbale house, planting lots of trees, establishing gardens, growing fungi, wildcrafting in the woods, and building community with my friends and neighbors. I have a wonderful 2 year old daughter.

I spent around 5 years or so travelling mostly on the west coast and Hawaii and did a lot of couchsurfing in that time, but now that I've been settled my chances have been less frequent. I recently started a job that has me travelling quite a bit, so I've been excited for the opportunity to get back into the couchsurfing community!

I'd love to host here on our homestead, but it seems that rural Missouri is not on many folks top destination lists.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've had many wonderful experiences surfing in the past, and would love to do any hosting if there was interest. I find staying with local hosts to be a wonderful way to experience a new area and meet fun and interesting people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to write songs for the guitar, but I'm generally embarrassed by the lyrical content.

Patiently awaiting the next Tom Robbins novel.

I can never get enough of Leonard Cohen... still upset that he passed :(

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was riding in my sister's car one day while she was driving around Seattle, and we're chattin or whatever and we're like half a block away from a red light with no traffic and my sister goes right through it without even realizing it!

But there's more...

She went and did the exact same thing a few days later!! Crazy.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can play a lot of songs on guitar and ukulele. I've learned a lot about organic gardening, permaculture, and natural building in the past couple years and would love to learn more and share what I've learned with others.

I'd love to learn how to make a really good injera bread that isn't cooked on an electric non-stick fry pan, and only uses teff flower.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love cooking and am always excited to get down in the kitchen. Can also share my passion and knowledge of craft beer or whiskey.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, England, Sweden
