About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Riding our bikes across the country to blow our whistles for freedom as a part of a campaign for peace in the Congo

ABOUT ME

Student activists cycle 3000 miles to raise awareness for war in Democratic Republic of Congo

LOS ANGELES, CA.— Falling Whistles bike tour will stop in sixty cities across the US share stories and educate the community on the war in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Launched on a simple platform with a big goal, the cyclists aim to spread awareness about the world’s deadliest war in the DRC and raise money to rehabilitate and advocate for war-affected children there.

Falling Whistles began as a small journal entry written after American traveler, Sean Carasso, stumbled upon an illegal prison encampment in the Congo. It was here that he learned the story of the whistleblowers—boys sent to the front lines of battle armed with only a whistle.

Through tears, a small journal, Falling Whistles, was written. Readers demanded to know: “What can we do?” In response to this, Falling Whistles was born with a simple plan: Make their weapon your voice and be a whistleblower for peace.

With the same simplicity and just as much urgency, a handful of these whistleblowers will ride across the country, stopping in cities along the way, speaking to clubs, classrooms, camps, individuals, and friends to elevate common conversation.

Armed with only their bikes and their voices, they state:
“No van, no gasoline, no crowded interstates—just a truth that demands telling and a few friends willing to give what it takes to make sure people hear it. To detour is to turn aside from the direct way, and Falling Whistles is doing just that. It has taken this "detour" in an effort to change the way people think about tours, activism, advocacy, and aid.

The tour began on May 28th and will continue across the country starting in Wilmington, NC and ending in Los Angeles, CA.
