I like to read in the sun, and hate socks. I am a fiend for all things mail and postage related. I like long distance train travel and semi-truck cabs. Whiskey holds a special place in my heart. I can often be found staring at people doing seemingly ordinary things out of sheer fascination.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted people from all over - other parts of Canada, Germany, Belgium, to name a few. I've surfed in Mexico, Turkey, Kosovo, Croatia, Ukraine and India. One of the greatest things about Courchsurfing is staying with people who know just as little about the place as you - you come across some pretty amazing things together - like Native American themed bowling alleys in Kiev with teddy bears hanging by their necks above the lanes next to girls in short short skirts and stilettos falling over the line. Building these sorts of bridges, not just between cultures but between experiences in places and lives lived in different ways has helped me gain and incredible love for all this ordinary and 'exotic' all the same.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drank tea with three generations of women on the border of Turkey and Armenia.

Crossed a glacier slide in the Pin Valley without requiring the assistance of a bulldozer (but definitely needing the assistance of many men lifting me out of the waist-high muck near the end).

Dancing down the street with kids in Kolkata.

Playa time, all the time.
