Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To find diversity. I love to travel and meet new people and learn about other people's stories.
ABOUT ME
I am about to graduate from university with a bachelor's in International Studies. I'm currently a server at the best pizza place in town. When I am not working there I also have two other gigs as well as a slurry if volunteer projects. Most recently I have been working on the Humans of New Mexico project (humansofnewmexico.com) which has really opened up my knowledge and perspective on this beautiful state.
I really enjoy my home town Albuquerque and showing it to people when I have time. I get the itch to travel often and see how other people perceive the world.
I enjoy meeting new people, trying new foods and seeing different cultures, those awkward moments where you learn the most. I'm a fairly relaxed/flexible person (when I'm not busy) and I try to enjoy the moment, whatever that may be. I'm interested in current events and politics and changing the world for the better.
PHILOSOPHY
To learn. To share. To feel. To communicate.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I started traveling alone when I was too young to do couch surfing and it was my parents who first heard about it. As I traveled more and started to host people it became easy to find the spirit of couch surfing. When I travel I like to divide my time between hostels and couch surfing. Each provide their own experience but ultimately I look for human connection and stories. I've come to find greater value in listening to people's histories and stories.
I enjoy cooking and helping out in the house, being flexible, qualities which I think are important for couch surfers to carry.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
After I lived for a year in Morocco I started surfing more. Now I have surfed in quite a few places, welcomed by great people, and have tried to do the same in Albuquerque. I would say I'm very experienced with couch surfing itself, but have only encountered only a few experiences of what it has to offer.
Interests
Soccer, Dancing, Reading, Learning, Eating, being outdoors. Just about everything can interest me. When I travel I really enjoy getting lost and seeing the non-touristy areas.
Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy reading. I enjoy music, especially learning of new artists.
I enjoy a wide range of musical and film genres. I love going to local venues and hanging out.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Living in Morocco. I learned so much and ate such delicious food.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: how to make Juevos Rancheros or Burritos. How to Swing Dance. Piano (if you coax me). Card games!
Learn: merely listening to people's stories is fascinating.
Share: knowledge of Albuquerque. bike rides. car rides. maybe a couch. food. coffee.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I don't mind cooking dinner or helping out with some chores. I'm flexible and relaxed and don't need to be entertained constantly. I enjoy venturing out on my own.
