About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning...
Mostly about mental health, spirituality, psychology, philosophy, mental wellbeing, meditation, self development and peace.

ABOUT ME

I am an easy going, laid back, friendly kinda guy. I'm easily pleased and don't need much money to make me happy. I'm hardly ever bored.
I don’t eat meat.

I have a dog friend called Beca who lives with me and comes everywhere with me. Please see my photos to meet her.

You know when some song lyrics are perfect for you? Well..."You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one."
The power of dreaming is endless. I'm in one constant daydream haha.

My favourite things are sports, films, food and nature.
I play football and keep fit.

I love the outdoors and love trying new things or seeing new places.
Alexander Supertramp once said "The core of a man's spirit comes from new experiences". I'm sure he meant women too :P

I'm training to be a Scuba Diving Instructor so I can move somewhere warm.

I am currently volunteering for The Samaritans. It's a charity which provides emotional support, especially to people who are effected by suicide.
I also work as a full time Support Worker for The Wallich, which is a homelessness charity here in the UK.

My daughter is 19 and actually acts older than me.

I have a dog (a Malamute) and a Boa Constrictor.

People that have inspired me throughout my life are Sir David Attenborough, Paul Gascoigne, Alan Watts, Mike Tyson, Peter Andre, Michael Jackson and Tupac Shakur.
The people I'm most interested in at the moment are Snatam Kaur, Alan Watts, Terence McKenna, Buddha.

I love tattoos and piercings.

Ubuntu contributionism!!!! (look it up) https://www.ubuntuplanet.org

I am very spiritual and plan to travel to India to study Yoga and Meditation.

I always wear odd socks. Maybe because I believe in integration, variety and social sock inclusion.

Surely that must be enough information about me for you to see that...
I'm a bit strange haha.

PHILOSOPHY

I love philosophy and I am open minded to absolutely everything. Something I love to talk about. I listen to Alan Watts every night before bed :)

Some quotes that have touched me along my path so far:

"The core of a man's spirit comes from new experiences." - Christopher McCandless, AKA-Alexander Supertramp.

"Words do not describe reality. Only experience shows us its true face." - Buddha

“You talk when you cease to be at peace with your thoughts;
And when you can no longer dwell in the solitude of your heart, you live in your lips, and sound is a diversion and a pastime.
And in much of your talking, thinking is half murdered.” - Khalil Gibran

"If you want the rainbow, you've gotta put up with the rain." - Dolly Parton/David Brent.

"Everything we are is a result of what we have thought". - Buddha.

"Relax and let yourself float up. It's your struggles that keep
you down in the depths and darkness" - Fred Van Dyke. (Actually advising about surfing, but I think it transfers to our lives in general).

"I still believe in paradise,
But now at least I know, it's not some place you can look for,
Cause it's not where you go,
It's how you feel for a moment in your life,
And if you find that moment...it lasts forever." - Richard (The Beach movie)

"Loose lips sink ships." - Anon.

"Speak your mind, but watch your mouth." - Xzibit.

"Every Saint has a past, every sinner has a future." - Oscar Wilde.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a spare room with a double bed in my house in Wales, but my house is currently undergoing some work, so hosting at the moment is difficult.
It's in a small fishing town, 15miles from the nearest City (Swansea).
Nothing much happens here, but if anyone wants to come here, feel free!! :)

I also spend half the year in central Portugal (near Torres Novas) , so can possibly host there in my caravan on my friend’s land, but this is subject to permission from her and dates etc.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A colleague of mine, who I met whilst working in an Orphanage in Vietnam told me about it as she is a veteran CouchSurfer herself. I have since spent some great times and met some great people by staying with them through here. I'm happy to say these guys are now my friends :)

I'm yet to host, as no-one really wants to come to little old Burry Port haha.

Interests

Playing sports- Football (soccer), Boxing, Squash, Swimming, Mountain Biking, Surfing, Snowboarding, Hiking. Pretty much anything I can have a go at :)
Watching sports- Live or just on TV.
Film- I love watching movies, but I'm getting less and less time to do so.
Food- Eating it, not cooking it.
Nature- I love Documentaries and going to beautiful places (I'm also training to be a Dive Instructor to get me closer to nature).
Reading- I'm making more time to read these days. My favourite book is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.
Photography- I love photos and memories. I'd love to spend more time taking photos and learning the settings on my camera.

Daydreaming is my favourite hobby.
