About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoy life, be part of the world, sail.
ABOUT ME
I've been a dreamer since childhood, and I still am.
Went to university for five years (pure mathematics), and eventually decided it didn't really fit the lifestyle as I was trying to build. That's when I took one gap year to think about me and my life (quite egocentric, isn't it ?), while repairing boats and teaching people how to sail as a volunteer. Trained and worked as a nurse after that, and just got qualified as a sailing instructor.
PHILOSOPHY
“Yesterday is but a dream, tomorrow but a vision. But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day. Such is the salutation to the dawn.” I do believe in it.
I also believe that it's possible for me (and a great amount of people) to decide to be happy : every morning is the beginning of the reste of my life, and I can (must ?) do what I want.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I do like the idea - sharing your home and who you are with perfect strangers.
This requires a lot of trust, and I'm happy to participate in something that builds trust, that makes people closer to one another.
Plus I enjoy sharing what I like, what I think, and to talk and debate about it, especially with people who have little in common with me, who had completely different lives and thus who have different points of view !
