About Me

Alex and I are about to begin the adventure of a lifetime!!! This week, we have both quit our full time jobs, we have sold or donated all of our belongings, and we will be saying goodbye to all our loved ones - all to invest in our own lives and experience the world!

So we are planning to travel for 9 months (providing we don't blow our budget in the first 3....it was a risky move putting Vegas at the beginning of the trip!!!). The plan is to spend 3 months in the USA, 2 months through Central America and 4 months in South America.

We are both really easy going people. We are both from country New South Wales in Australia - Alex is from Bathurst and I am from Wagga Wagga. We have lived in Wollongong, Sydney and Perth. Alex studied Commerce at University, and I studied Law and Science. We love to get out and explore any time we can! We both work full time in the city, but we try to squeeze in camping trips and other adventures on any weekend we can. We love to head to the beach or the river after work and spend a few hours fishing and having a picnic dinner. We have a wide variety of interests, but mainly we love cooking, sport, camping, fishing, meeting new people, and sharing good conversation over a few drinks!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of our main aims thoughout our travels is to really take time to get to know the local culture and way of life. Of cause we need to meet locals to do this - so we would love if you welcomed us into your home.

We have hosted a few Couch Surfers ourselves, from France, Italy and even some Australians, and have found the people we meet through couch surfing are genuine, free spirited people who are great company! We love the idea of opening our home to travellers, so we are really looking forward to being on the other side and becoming guests ourselves!

What I Can Share with Hosts

We would love to share some great conversation with you over a few drinks! We have many interests, so would love to find out what we have in common with you, as well as learn some new things too! We love chatting about sport, philosophy, business, cooking, travel experience, travel plans...even conspiracy theories (this is always a gold topic that comes up over drinks in our friendship group!!). We would also love to teach you about Australia, and how we ride Kangaroos to work ;) ! We'd also be delighted to cook for you and share our baking skills - some delicious Aussie classics!

We would also love to extend an invite to any of our hosts to stay in our home if you ever visit Australia. We would love to return the hospitality and show you around our city! We also have family and friends who live all over Australia that we could put you in contact with, and we would be very happy to do so!

Alex and I have been hosts, so we understand that it is not always practical for you to spend a lot of time with guests. So depending on what you would like, we can either do some exploring with you, or we are also happy to be self-sufficient, independent guests and entertain ourselves. We are easy going, and don't mind either way!! We will always be kind, enjoyable and tidy visitors to your home.
