About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Follow the train tracks to the cliff, enjoy the fall, then see where I ended up.

ABOUT ME

Stories fascinate me. I'm a big fan of theater, languages, art, science, philosophy, and politics. I'm idealistic and open-minded, and I love the standard bar talks. I love embracing things with all my strength, but I can't commit to any of them. I love to be on the road, but the best thing is to go back home...

PHILOSOPHY

The final objective is less important than the path.
I don't speak to defend my opinion, I create my opinion as we speak. If nobody is ready to change his/her mind, what good is there in a debate? And why would I search all my answers alone if together we can get something so much richer?

Generously offer you work, your sweat, your love, your time, your passion. The more you give away, the more you get. Be sparing with money; the less you find out you need it, the less you'll crave for it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Very little... For now.

I'm sorry my friends, but for the time being I'm staying at my parents', meaning no hosting for a couple of months.

Everything I've experienced, hosting in my tiny dorm, surfing great people's places, sharing with them a bit of what I knew and of what they knew, participating in events and all that jazz was an excellent experience. I really hope to come back soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted twice, two wonderful persons at the best of my ability. I hope Leona and Rogério were not disappointed by their subpar host and house! It was a pleasure to receive them, and to feel I was doing for them what my hosts did to me before.

I used couchsurfing on three trips so far, and on each trip I was very well-received by two different hosts. They have all been great guests and are my role models of what I can be one day! I can't thank you enough, Stuart, Ailan, Josana, Viktoria, Liza, Heedo, Heili, Mads!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: a big fan in general, but not a connaisseur. Will listen to almost everything. Soft spot for cartoon music (disney, Oz, opening themes) and brazilian popular music (samba, bossa nova, and others)

Books: Theater pieces (Brecht, Ionesco), Short stories (mostly brazilian...), Fantasy in general (Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, His Dark materials), Graphic Novels (Sandman, Maus, Mangas, Calvin and Hobbes)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to an all-weekend event with my theater group. This is an experience I had many times, and, as the group matured, they became more and more organized. Nonetheless, there is nothing like the feeling of the first few weekends, throwing ourselves in the dark void, not knowing what would come next. Spending a weekend with the most fantastic people in the world; in an environment maybe not too good for slumber, or for health, or for our grades, but absolutely inspiring and rejuvenating...

I have lived one year in Europe, where distances are a fraction of what they are in Brazil. I have crossed many borders and many boundaries... I have learned about the world and about myself. I think I'm addicted.

Yes, that was two amazing things. Sue me!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm someone who tends to see just a little bit of everything - just enough to understand the basic concept, not enough to master it... Which kind of makes me a terrible teacher, I suppose.

But I remember things, and I understand logic - I can teach people stuff involving "getting the base grasp" of things. I can also show them around Paris and/or São Paulo - that counts as teaching, right?
