Overview
About Me
Hi there! I'm Gabe and I am a Freshman at Middlebury College looking to explore the rest of Vermont over spring break.
I'm a tidy individual who can take care of himself, and of course as willing to do my share of cleaning and cooking while I stay with you. I should note that I lean towards a vegetarian diet, so anything I cook will most likely not have meat in it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To me travel isn't just about seeing tourist sites and eating at fancy restaurants. Sure, that stuff is fun, but it only skims the surface of the culture that city has to offer. Through couch surfing, I hope to be able to dig deeper into the culture by staying with someone who knows the city and all that it has to offer travelers such as myself.
Interests
When visiting a city I am most interested in the people there and how their lives might be similar or different to my own. I also enjoy, architecture, nature and food among a multitude of other things.
Music, Movies, and Books
Media Top Threes
Music: Sigur Rós, Beirut, and The Walters.
Movies: The Tree of Life, The Big Lebowski, and anything directed by Jim Jarmusch
Books: Siddhartha, Ishmael, The Catcher in the Rye
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sat under a new moon sky and watched the stars from Botswana's Okavango Delta.
Teach, Learn, Share
Two of my major passions are cooking, and the environment. I'd love to share some of my (vegetarian) meals with you, and hopefully learn to cook some of yours as well. As far as the environment goes, I am quite passionate about reducing plastic, water, and energy consumption. If that's also something you're interested in, I'd be more than happy to help brainstorm some ideas for making your property more eco friendly.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As with many travelers, the biggest things I have to offer are stories from my travels, and my philosophies and ideas about the world we live on. Additionally, I have lived in 4 very different parts of the United States, so if you are interested in our culture or history, I am fairly knowledgeable and would love to share what I know.
